Do I need a user account?
No. Domain Ledger works entirely locally and offline on your Mac. No sign-in is required, the app does not use tracking and does not transfer your stored data to a mandatory cloud service.
Does the app automatically monitor DNS or SSL?
No. Domain Ledger is a management and documentation solution. Automatic monitoring is not part of the app.
Can I transfer my vault to another Mac?
Yes. The complete vault can be exported and imported as an encrypted, password-protected .dledger archive.
Am I tied to a registrar?
No. Domain Ledger works independently of registrars and hosting providers.
Which platform is Domain Ledger available for?
Domain Ledger is a native macOS app and is available in German and English.
Before the first launch
Open Domain Ledger safely.
Domain Ledger is currently not signed with an Apple Developer certificate. macOS will therefore block the app the first time you open it.
- Download and open the DMG file, then move Domain Ledger to your Applications folder.
- Try to open Domain Ledger once, then close the security warning.
- Open “System Settings → Privacy & Security”. Under “Security”, click “Open” and then “Open Anyway”.
